Last week, the Academic Committee of the Student Leadership Team organised a thrilling Husky Trivia Event, in which Grade 9 and 10 advisory groups (AG) competed against each other.
Each AG created a team name using the name of their advisor, and designed name plates that were displayed on each team’s table. Weera the Champions (from Neshali Weera) won bonus points for most creative team name, while Pierszeria (from Piers Tainsh) won bonus points for their pizza-inspired name plate. Boss Ross (from Katherine Ross) won the Husky-spirit award for their display of teamwork, wearing matching hoodies that showed off their commitment to working together.
Students Swarali Parasnis and Yusuf Sheikh acted as MCs and led the teams through four increasingly intense rounds, the last of which pitted the top four advisories, two from Grade 9 and two from Grade 10, against each other. In the end, the mighty Wrath of the Walaseks walked away with the first prize. Each student on the team received a gift card from Popular bookstore.
The Husky Trivia Event was not only a fantastic way to celebrate our last Friday afternoon of the school year, but it also gave advisory groups a great opportunity to show off their smarts, creativity, and collaborative skills. We hope it will become an annual event.
